Hedo Turkoglu scored 26 points and grabbed 6 rebounds while Dwight Howard added 17 points and 12 boards to lead the Orlando Magic (39-42) past the Washington Wizards (40-41) 95-89 and kept their chances of earning a seven seed alive in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Antawn Jamison scored 48 points in the Wizards loss as Washington shot just 35 percent from the field to drop their eighth game in the last nine.
Jamison scored 16 in the third quarter to give the Wizards a 73-69 lead heading into the fourth quarter but a 10-2 run by the Magic to open the final period put Orlando in front by four.
Jarvis Hayes was able to tie the score at 88-88 with 2:25 left on the clock but a jumper from Carlos Arroyo and a Grant Hill free-throw moved the Magic in front for good. Kenyon Dooling sealed it for Orlando with a pair from the line with 14 seconds left.
Orlando can claim the seventh seed if they beat the Miami Heat on Wednesday and the Wizards fall to the Indiana Pacers.
