AT&T (NYSE: T) Drops Sponsorship of Tiger Woods

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) said Wednesday that the telephone conglomerate will no longer sponsor superstar golfer Tiger Woods.

AT&T joins Accenture and Gillette in removing their support for Woods after he admitted to being unfaithful to his wife earlier this month.

AT&T, whose logo appeared on Woods' golf bag, has been the title sponsor of a PGA event in July with Woods as the host.

Unlike AT&T, Nike (NYSE: NKE) and Swiss watch maker Tag Heuer have maintained their support of Woods, the world’s first billionaire athlete. However, Tag Heuer did say that they will remove Woods’ image from their advertisements indefinitely.
