ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO. (February 8, 2014). Peoples Flower Shops, an Albuquerque, New Mexico based, family-owned and operated florist, noted a significant increase in its Valentine’s Day orders this year, up significantly from Valentine’s Day 2013.
In response to the growing demand for Valentine’s Day flowers and gifts, the Albuquerque florist has expanded its collection and ordered additional roses, flowers, plants and gifts from its preferred partners. There are also more Valentine’s Day flower arrangements across every price point, including special custom Valentine’s Day creations based on the customer’s budget. The Albuquerque flower shop has noted an increase in the size of each Valentine’s Day order in terms of number of flowers as well as number of arrangements purchased per customer.
In commenting on the growth in Valentine’s Day orders this year, Wayne Pollack of Peoples Flower Shops said, “While it is always our busiest day of the year, Valentine’s Day orders started early this year and have not slowed down. If anything, demand is clearly higher. Customers seem to be spending more perhaps due in part to the ongoing economic recovery. We also see our customers making the most of our other products, including surf and turf dinners and special desserts for a romantic meal at home as well as our collection of balloons, greeting cards, and stuffed animals.”
Pollack added, “Of course, it helps that Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday this year, so there is a lot being planned around the three-day weekend. Plus, we have provided more promotions across our entire Valentine’s Day collection.”
