NFL Scores: Brett Favre Tosses 4 TDs as Minnesota Vikings Crush NY Giants

Brett Favre was 25/31 passing for 316 yards and four touchdowns, Sidney Rice had 112 yards receiving and a pair of TDs on six catches and Adrian Peterson carried the ball nine times for 54 yards and a touchdown as the Minnesota Vikings (12-4) crushed the New York Giants (8-8) 44-7 on Sunday.

Favre wasted little time getting the Vikings on the board, hitting Visanthe Shiancoe on a 10-yard touchdown pass two minutes into the game. That 7-0 lead would carry over into the second quarter and Ryan Longwell extended the advantage to 10-0 on a 36-yard field goal. Minnesota added to their lead when Peterson scored from a yard out and then Favre tossed a pair of TDs to Rice, a 4-yarder and a 12-yarder, and the Vikings went into the half up 31-0.

New York had no answer for Favre and the Vikings offense as the lead was pushed to 34-0 on another Longwell field goal and then Favre found Naufahu Tahi on a 2-yard toss to make it 41-0. Longwell would add his third field goal of the game to give the Vikings a 44-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The Giants finally scored in the final frame when Danny Ware crossed the goalline from a yard out but by that point the game had been on ice. New York managed just 11 first downs and were 1-8 on third down conversions while totaling a dismal 202 yards of offense.
