Secret Service Investigating Incident Involving Effigy of President Barack Obama

The Secret Service is investigating an incident in south Georgia in which an effigy of President Barack Obama was found hanging above a building.

The incident occurred in Plains, Georgia, the hometown of former President Jimmy Carter, and television footage showed the effigy of Barack Obama hanging in front of a sign that read, “Plains, Georgia. Home of Jimmy Carter, our 39th President.”

According to reports the effigy, bearing the name Barack Obama, was hung from the top of a building on the town’s main street. Plains, Georgia has a population of less than 700 people.
