Belarus Threatens to Cut Supply of Electricity to Russian Enclave of Kaliningrad

Belarus has warned Russia that it would cut the supply of electricity to the enclave of Kaliningrad because the two sides have yet to agree on transit fees.

According to the Belarus state power firm Belenergo there has been talk of “cutting the unauthorized commercial transit of electricity” to Kaliningrad.

The two sides have been at odds of oil supplies as well. Belarus has received preferential tariff prices on the oil it has imported from Russia and then exported that oil at world prices. Russia has said they were willing to sell Belarus oil duty-free but it must be used for domestic consumption, otherwise it would charge the tariff for oil it exports.
