We want to reach out to the students, faculty, staff and especially the alumni of Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania to support the goals and objectives of PASCU and sign up for the PASCU newsletter. The more support that we can obtain, the better we can preserve and deliver the statutory purpose of public higher education in Pennsylvania as specified by Act 188 of 1982, “High Quality Education at the Lowest Possible Cost to the Students”.
We are striving to meet our goals and objectives through education and advocacy, by reaching out to all stakeholders of Pennsylvania public higher education: students, alumni, donors, faculty, elected and appointed officials and the general public. We ask that these people and especially those from Slippery Rock University sign up for the PASCU newsletter to learn more about the drastic changes that have occurred to public higher education since the creation of the PASSHE system of universities by Act 188 of 1982.
When you sign up for the PASCU newsletter, you will be helping us preserve your legal rights, you the PASSHE students, parents, donors, and primarily the alumni who have all contributed to the majority of the annual funding to the PASSHE universities in Pennsylvania starting since 1992 and continuing to the present day.
With the support of the students, alumni, faculty and staff, we will collect, analyze and disseminate data and information on public higher education in Pennsylvania to all of its many stakeholders. In doing so we hope to foster open discussion, civil debate, and effective public policy.
We strive to function as a non-partisan association of citizens committed to preserving the historic purpose of public higher education in Pennsylvania so that individual students, communities, and society at large may be enriched in perpetuity.
We want PASSHE students, parents, donors and alumni of Slippery Rock University to all sign up for the PASCU newsletter so that we may better launch and maintain a tireless and effective education campaign to inform these key constituencies about the severe changes that have occurred to the public higher education system since the creation of the PASSHE system of universities by Act 188 of 1982. We want to encourage these key constituencies to make local and statewide elected officials and candidates for office aware that they support the mission, goals and objectives of PASCU and that they ask their elected officials and candidates for public office to do the same.
