South Africa President Jacob Zuma Marries Third Wife

South Africa President Jacob Zuma has married his third wife, Thobeka Mabhija, and is said to be readying to wed his fourth.

The Zulu ceremony was attended by more than 2,000 guests including Zuma’s other two wives, Nompumelelo Ntuli and Sizakele Khumalo. The 67-year-old president believes in the practice of polygamy and has been married five times; he divorced Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma in 1998 while Kate Mantsho Zuma died in 2000.

As part of Zulu tradition Zuma’s two wives had to approve the new marriage and attend the ceremony for it to be legitimate.

It is being reported that Zuma already has a fourth bride in sight, Gloria Bongi Ngema, but wedding plans have not been announced
