Shooting at Las Vegas Courthouse Leaves Security Officer Dead, Gunman Killed

A shooting inside a Las Vegas federal courthouse left a security officer dead and a U.S. marshal injured on Monday. The gunman attempted to flee the scene but was eventually shot and killed by officers.

According to reports the gunman entered the lobby of the courthouse with a shotgun shortly after 8:00 a.m. and opened fire. Authorities have not released a motive for the attack but have said they believe the gunman acted alone.

The injured U.S. marshal is said to be in stable condition.
