Watch List Lengthens With Extra Airline Screening

World News Update by EQUITIES Magazine

Dozens more people have been added to the government’s terrorist watch list and n-fly list in the wake of the failed Christmas bombing.

People on the watch list undergo additional checking before being allowed into the country; those on the no-fly list are barred from boarding aircraft in or headed for the United States.

An official who was not authorized to speak publicly about the watch lists and requested anonymity said that after the Dec. 25 incident, counterterrorism officials reviewed information in Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment, or TIDE, on people from countries where terrorists have operated.
