Police commandos are currently surrounding a building at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston after receiving reports that an armed person had been spotted on the on the grounds.
There have been reports of several shots being fired but there is no information surrounding injuries at this point. Authorities have said that the gunman has barricaded himself in a second-floor office.
Police responded to a call concerning an individual with a weapon at Building 44, a communications and tracking development laboratory located in a remote section of the center’s campus.
The building was evacuated and other buildings have gone to lockdown until the situation is stabilized.
