Motherhood and Apple Pie: Celebrate Moms at a Bed and Breakfast or Country Inn!

Mother’s Day is celebrated on various dates throughout the world, but in this country, we annually honor our mothers on the second Sunday in May. It was first introduced in the late 1800s and quickly became a popular pastime. President Woodrow Wilson made it an official national holiday in 1914.

It is so popular, in fact, that census reports state that 96% of American consumers take part in Mother’s Day in some way. According to the National Restaurant Association, Mother’s Day has become the busiest day of the year to dine out in the United States. Data collected by a consumer tracking study showed that one-fifth of all holiday floral purchases are made for Mother’s Day, outranking Valentine’s Day, Easter and Thanksgiving, to come in second after Christmas/Chanukah.

American Historic Inns (AHI) and iLoveInns.com have made it easy to plan something personal for your Mother’s Day celebration on May 13, 2007. Check out the special bed and breakfast packages with brunches, spa services, flowers and photos these bed and breakfasts and inns have created to make moms feel special. Be sure to mention AHI and iLoveInns.com when making reservations since most of these are exclusive Bed & Breakfast offers not available elsewhere.
