Continental Airlines, Inc. (NYSE:CAL) jumped 9% to $19.77 on high volume after Continental Airlines said late Monday that traffic in December rose 6% to 7.54 billion revenue passenger miles from 7.11 billion revenue miles in December 2008. A revenue passenger mile is equal to one passenger flown one mile.
Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL) surged 5.70% to $11.94, AMR Corporation (NYSE:AMR) rose 5.50% to $8.15.
UAL Corporation (NASDAQ:UAUA) increased 7% to $13.68 and US Airways Group, Inc. (NYSE:LCC) jumped 6.70% to $5.09.
