The Pennsylvania Association of State Colleges and Universities is encouraging all PASSHE students, parents, donors, alumni and friends to attend PASCU’s Second Annual Conference on March 22, 2014. Attendance for this event is free, but space is limited. Registration is required for a guaranteed admission.
The Second Annual PASCU conference will begin at 7:00 PM with a Board of Directors dinner and meeting on Friday March 21 at the Harrisburg Hilton Hotel. Here current members of the Board will be recognized while new members will be welcomed to the Board. On Saturday there will be speakers from PASSHE including students, parents and alumni. For additional information and registration, go to the PASCU Inc Second Annual Conference website.
The general purpose of the Pennsylvania Association of State Colleges and Universities is to ensure that the statutory purpose of public higher education in Pennsylvania as specified by Act 188 of 1982 is both preserved and faithfully delivered. We are reaching out to Colleges and Universities like Slippery Rock and Clarion University as well as many others to encourage PASCU’s key constituencies, PASSHE students, parents, donors, and especially alumni, as well as others who share our values and ideology to make local and statewide elected officials and candidates for office aware that they support the mission, goals and objectives of PASCU.
PASCU’s mission, beyond preserving the statutory purpose of public higher education, is to also promote the legal rights of that segment of society which includes PASSHE students, parents, donors and alumni. These people, as a group, have contributed the majority of the annual funding to the PASSHE universities in Pennsylvania.
With the help of students, parents and alumni, who sign up for the PASCU newsletter, we plan to launch and maintain a tireless and effective education campaign to inform PASSHE students, parents, alumni and donors and the general public of the drastic changes that have occurred to public higher education since the creation of the PASSHE system by Act 188 of 1982.
