Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) reported Tuesday that the automaker’s sales jumped 32.7 percent in December, compared with a year ago, according to Associated Press.
Total sales of Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Volvo brands, excluding heavy trucks, rose to 183,773 vehicles last month, compared with 138,458 vehicles in December 2008. Sales for the year, excluding heavy trucks, fell 15.4 percent.

Ford division sales led the company in December, with total sales up 37 percent for the month. Lincoln sales rose 15.6 percent, while sales of Mercury models gained 5.7 percent in December.
Sales of the fuel-efficient Ford Fusion leaped 83 percent to 18,852 vehicles. Sales of the Mustang jumped 62 percent.
