December sales rose to 9,030 vehicles, compared to 7,712 in December 2008. For all of 2009, sales fell to 82,716 vehicles, compared to 87,760 in 2008.
The A4 was the company’s top-selling car model with 3,555 sold in December.
Audi said its Q7 and A3 models that use Audi's TDI clean diesel technology sold better than expected. In 2007, clean diesel units made up 43 percent of Q7 sales and 53 percent of A3 sales.
