LG Electronics announced Wednesday that the company will introduce its first 3-D-capable flat panel TVs for the U.S. market in May, according to Associated Press.
Several TV manufacturers are expected to make similar announcements later Wednesday at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The industry is trying to bring 3-D technology into homes as moviegoers remain enthusiastic to see 3-D movies, such as “Avatar,” in theaters.

The prices for the new LG sets have yet to be disclosed. However, Tim Alessi, the director of product development at LG Electronics USA, said the TVs will likely cost about $200 to $300 more than comparable sets without 3-D functions.
