PharMerica Corporation is an institutional pharmacy services company. The Company services healthcare facilities and provides management pharmacy services to hospitals. It operates more than 100 institutional pharmacies in 40 states. The Company also provides pharmacy management services to 84 hospitals in the United States. The Company operates in two business segments: institutional pharmacies, which provides pharmacy services to nursing centers and other healthcare providers, and the hospital pharmacy management business, which provides management services to Kindred Healthcare, Inc.’s (Kindred) hospitals. On July 9, 2008, the Company purchased the 49% minority interest held by a third-party in its joint ventures.
