Retailers ‘More is Less’ Plan Works, Holiday Season a Success

Retailers approached this past holiday season with less inventory, less-expensive merchandise as well as fewer stores with abysmal same-store sales. The result was a 2.9% increase in sales at stores open at least a year—almost one percent more than Wall Street’s expectations.
