Suicide Bomber Kills at least Nine at Afghan Market

A suicide bomber detonated an explosive at a market in the eastern Afghan city of Gardez, killing at least nine people including four children.

According to reports the bomber was targeting the head of a private security company that was working for American forces. That apparent target, along with his brother and two bodyguards, were among the dead.

It is believed that the attacker was tied to the Taliban which regularly targets government and security officials who have shown allegiance to American forces.
