Jet Blue 7.5 Percent More Traffic in December

Financial World News Update by Equities Magazine

JetBlue Airways Corp., has been tacking on additional routes during the tough year for airlines, helping its December traffic to rise 7.5 percent from a year earlier.

JetBlue noted their travelers flew 2.28 billion miles in December versus the 2.12 billion miles flown in December of last year.

Jetblue’s good news is likely in direct correlation of the routes it added as indicated by competitor, Delta coming forward with numbers revealing a 7.5 percent loss in traffic.

Jetblue’s approach for increased traffic involved adding capacity through raising the number of flights between San Francisco, CA and For Lauderdale, Fla., and a number of others.

Despite the good news JetBlue shares slipped 5 cents in after hours trading after experiencing a 2.3 percent rise, reaching $5.86 in the regular trading hours.
