NFL News: Seattle Seahawks Fire Coach Jim Mora Following 5-11 Season

The Seattle Seahawks have fired head coach Jim Mora after one season following a disappointing 5-11 record, the team’s second straight losing campaign.

Mora spent just one year at the helm after joining the Seahawks in Feb. 2008 as part of a five-year contract. As part of that contract Mora was to transition into the head coaching position after then head coach Mike Holmgren retired.

On Friday team management told Mora that he would not be retained for the 2010 season. The Seahawks dropped their final four games of the year and while they won five games, two of those were against the St. Louis Rams and one against the Detroit Lions.
