Asian Plantations Limited, a holding company with subsidiaries involved in the acquisition, development, operation and management of palm oil plantations in Malaysia, has completed its acquisition of Jubilant Paradise Sdn Bhd and Incosetia Sdn Bhd, which owns a partly developed palm oil plantation totaling approximately 5,850 hectares in Sarawak, Malaysia. The completion of the acquisition marks the start of production beginning with the cultivation of palm oil trees, the harvesting of fresh fruit bunches and the processing of this fruit into product.
Despite the recent acquisition, expansion remains at the top of Asian Plantations agenda as they imagine greater resources will be required as demand continues to rise. Palm oils popularity has been increasing as word spreads of its heart healthy and environmentally friendly attributes. Asian Plantations sees tremendous opportunity in these qualities, and has begun making provisions to match for the demand it anticipates.
Asian Plantations is looking to double from their nearly 5,000 acre harvest plantation to 10,000 by the close of 2010. By 2011, the company intends to have over 20,000 acres of mature palm oil harvest.
