Rosie O’Donnell Doesn’t See Eye-to-Eye with ABC, Leaving ‘The View’ after One Year
After just one season sitting on the coach, Rosie O’Donnell has had enough and is leaving ‘The View.’ According to O’Donnell she was unable to come to acceptable contract terms with ABC saying, “My needs for the future just didn't dovetail with what ABC was able to offer me.”
While outspoken and often controversial O’Donnell did give ‘The View’ an added edge that sparked its popularity and often had people tuning in to find out who she would condemn next. From Mel Gibson to Rupert Murdoch, Rosie attacked them all but her most famous feud has been with Donald Trump that has led the two to take any public opportunity they have to insult the other.
Despite the constant upheaval and chaotic nature that Rosie brought, Barbara Walters wanted her back. Walters said “I induced Rosie to come back to television on `The View' even for just one year.” Walters went on to compliment O’Donnell on the new life she brought to the show.
