The non-partisan group, GOOOH, is gaining national media attention with coverage on Fox & Friends, ABC, WGN, and ShelfLife. Recently, radio hosts Lou Dobbs and Neal Boortz declared their support of the group’s goal of replacing all 435 members of the House of Representatives in 2010. Within 36 hours of a December 20th appearance by GOOOH founder Tim Cox on Fox & Friends, 11,000 new members signed up on the GET OUT OF OUR HOUSE website. See that interview here.
A January 6 Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey showed that only 32% of likely U.S. voters are even somewhat confident that their representatives in Congress are actually representing their best interests. Only eight percent are “very confident.” Sixty-seven percent are not confident that their congressional representatives are guided by what’s best for their constituents, including 31% who are not very confident and 36% who are not at all confident.
Commenting on the pending Healthcare legislation, GOOOH founder Cox said, “These politicians no longer represent you or me. They represent the special interest groups who have written this 2,000 page bill, which they haven't even bothered to read. They represent their party, which is dictating how they will vote -- how else could every member of one party be for the bill and every member of the other against? …So rigged is the system, incumbents know they have a 95% chance of being re-elected! It is time to put an end to this re-election guarantee.”
The GOOOH plan is to eliminate special interest money and political party influence from the electoral process by openly selecting candidates from each congressional district, with a campaign funded nationally. Tim Cox is traveling across the country explaining his plan and demonstrating the candidate selection process with stops in Texas, Louisiana, and North Carolina.
