‘Missing Baby’s Mom Played Us’ Says Arizona Couple Who Hoped to Adopt the Child

World News Update by EQUITIES Magazine

An Arizona couple who tried to adopt the 8-month-old baby who’s been missing since Christmas, known as Baby Gabriel, have said they fell the mother of the baby duped and used them.

The mother in question, Elizabeth Johnson, 23, is being held in Tempe, Arizona by police on a $1 million cash bail. Still, Jack and Tammi Smith have been named persons of interest in the case. The Smiths say that the polygraph tests they took last week will show they have cooperated full with the police investigation.

“I feel like a fool, because knowing what’s up now that all the facts have been laid out in front of me, I see that she was lying to us and playing us,” Tammi Smith told Matt Lauer today. “Now, I’m not sure if anything she said to me was true.”

Her husband characterized Johnson as “deceptive.”
