Comedian Sarah Silverman has been announced as this year’s host of the annual MTV Movie Awards.
While MTV has been handing out golden buckets of popcorn for 15 years this will be the first time the awards show will be aired live, something that Silverman feels might warrant some precautionary tactics, “I still seem to say things that you can't say on basic cable, so ... we're gonna have to have, like, a plan.”
Silverman has appeared in several movies, among them “School for Scoundrels” with Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Heder, “There’s Something About Mary” with Cameron Diaz and Ben Stiller, and “School of Rock” with Jack Black. Both Stiller and Black have hosted the MTV Movie Awards.
The quick witted comedian also has a Comedy Central Series “The Sarah Silverman Project.”
This year’s MTV Movie Awards will be aired live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in L.A. on June 3.
