March Madness Modulation: Sports, Sweat and Cannabinoid Rewards ~ New on the Bryan William Brickner Blog

Sweating Rewards

“Sweat is a sign,” offered Bryan W. Brickner, “of March Madness and ballgames: it’s also a sign of the cannabinoid system.”

Brickner, publisher of The Cannabis Papers: A citizen’s guide to cannabinoids (2011), played basketball in high school and college. In March Madness Modulation: Sports, Sweat and Cannabinoid Rewards, new on the Bryan William Brickner Blog, the author playfully notes the role of the cannabinoid system in athletics.

“The CS modulates exercise by priming our other systems for activity,” explained Brickner. “The research is exciting (maybe even more than a few of the games) and The National Institutes of Health (PubMed) provides the quotes and evidence: the CS modulates sweat.”

“Watch the coaches, players and fans during warm-ups,” offered Brickner, “and look for the sweat; it’ll tell you who’s ready, who’s modulating their tournament madness.”

“Oh yeah … the refs,” Brickner finished: “Human too you know ~ meaning CS modulation is involved. So let’em warm-up proper and get prepared, as it’s that time: tip-off!”

Brickner has a 1997 political science doctorate from Purdue University and is the author of several books, to include The Promise Keepers (1999), Article the first of the Bill of Rights (2006), and The Book of the Is (2013). The Bryan William Brickner Blog is a collection of published works and press coverage and an ongoing resource for the political science of constitutions and the biological science of cannabinoids.

The Cannabis Papers is available at online retailers and for free by download.
