DENVER, COLORADO. (March 20, 2014). Veldkamp’s Flowers and Gifts, the third generation, family-owned and operated Denver florist, announced that Phase I of their store renovation has been completed. Overall, the florist will have four phases of renovation, which are expected to be finalized by spring 2015.
Many of the changes completed in Phase I included enhancements to the walk-in cooler for easier access as well as expansion to accommodate a larger supply of fresh flower arrangements and flowers for walk-in customers. The customer showroom redesign included the purchase of stylish cabinets, iron tables, and other furniture for displaying all the many flowers, plants, and gifts. This furniture is also available for purchase should customers find one of the unique displays a perfect fit for their home. Phase 2, which is currently underway, includes creating an indoor garden center and revamping the distribution center.
Other changes to come include renovating the design center where the floral design teams create the flower arrangements, gift baskets and gourmet baskets. Finally, an outdoor garden center will be added, including flower and plant beds around the entire store front.
In commenting on the store makeover, General Manager John Paul Veldkamp said, “We believe that it is important to make changes to our store and our product offering to keep our customers excited, attract new customers, and stand out from the competition. The changes reflect feedback we have received from customers about the other types of products they would like to see and buy from us. We also regularly undertake marketing research to determine what type of improvements would help increase traffic flow to our Denver flower shop.”
Veldkamp added, “These physical improvements to our store, in combination with our comprehensive Internet Marketing program that includes an upgraded website, regularly updated content, and a greater social media presence along with numerous other tactics, has given us a significant edge in the local flower shop marketplace. We are already experiencing higher sales volume and an enhanced brand image.”
In addition to the beautiful flowers, flower arrangements, gift baskets, plants and gift collections, new items have been added. Some of these new product lines include scarves, silk flower arrangements, silk wreaths for spring and silk plants in unique containers.
