Narconon Freedom Center Instills Moral Values in Drug Addicts

Narconon Freedom Center incorporates 21 moral precepts into its drug rehabilitation program.

Part of drug addiction is a gradual decay of one’s moral principles. This generally leads to greater and greater transgressions until actual crimes are being committed. This has a terrific impact on our social structure and society itself. The result is expense in terms of damage, increased law enforcement, increased taxes, and rising insurance costs.

The drug addict doesn't necessarily realize how far they have sunk. With drug cravings and depression caused by drug abuse, they only see drugs as a solution to their misery. However, underlying this is another factor. Their general decline of moral values.

It is for this reason that the Narconon program in Michigan has as part of its program The Way to Happiness, a non-religious moral code based on common sense.  After the physical factors of drug abuse are addressed in the Narconon program, the student does a series of courses that each one addresses a facet of the underlying causes of why the addict became one to begin with. The final step is The Way to Happiness which teaches the student 21 moral precepts, many of which he may not have been previously aware of as even being morals, but were the points that he went off the rails. If one knows why he made the errors he did and how to correct them, he is far less likely to make the same errors in the future.

The Way to Happiness was written by American author and humanitarian, L. Ron Hubbard.  The book has been translated into 90 languages and more than 70 million copies have been distributed over the world. The book has received Presidential recognition and been widely used by governments, businesses, schools and community groups worldwide.

With Narconon Freedom Center using The Way to Happiness as part of their drug rehabilitation program and instilling moral values into its students, students are far less likely to travel down the same road that led to their demise.

Recently, a new film was produced covering each of the 21 precepts of The Way to Happiness in its unabridged form. This film is being used to accompanying The Way to Happiness book in the Narconon program with the added benefit of covering in picture form with real life examples each of the 21 moral precepts.  Thus making the precepts even more real to students of the Narconon program and how these precepts apply to their own lives.
