Bollywood to gain another Bachchan as Aishwarya Leaves Rai Behind
In what was called “the wedding of the century” the union of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan last week has resulted in a new Bachchan. It’s not the pitter-patter of little feet that will be joining the Bachchan dynasty but rather Aishwarya herself.
The former Miss World and star of several Bollywood films has opted to drop her last name for her husband’s surname. According to the newly wed husband’s father Amitabh Bachchan, “She desires to use Bachchan as her surname.”
Not only will Aishwarya and Abhishek share the family name, they will also share the family house as they have chosen to move in with Amitabhn and his wife Jaya. Once again Amitabhn spoke freely about the revelation saying “This decision came voluntarily from Abhishek and Aishwarya.”
