The Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) to Host Common Electrical Interface Workshop February 1

The Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) has announced that its Common Electrical Interface (CEI) for 25- and 28-Gig workshop will be held on Monday, February 1, 2010.  The workshop will begin at 8:00 am that morning and conclude at 5:00 pm that afternoon.  The event will be held at the Cypress Hotel in Cupertino, California.

OIF members and the public are invited to participate in the workshop.  The workshop will cost $100 for OIF members, and $125 for non members.  The fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch.  An additional $25 fee will be charged for late and onsite registrants.  Interested parties may register online at www.oiforum.com/public/OIF_CEI_workshop)01Feb10.html.

 

Launched in April of 1998, the OIF is the first industry group to unite representatives from data and optical networking disciplines, including many of the world's leading carriers, component manufacturers and system vendors. The OIF promotes the development and deployment of interoperable networking solutions and services through the creation of Implementation Agreements (IAs) for optical, interconnect, network processing and component technologies, and optical networking systems. The OIF actively supports and extends the work of standards bodies with the goal of promoting worldwide compatibility of optical internetworking products. Working relationships or formal liaisons have been established with the Ethernet Alliance, IEEE 802.3, IETF, ITU-T Study Group 13, ITU-T Study Group 15, IPv6 Forum, MEF, ATIS OPTXS, ATIS TMOC, Rapid I/O, TMF, UXPi and the XFP MSA Group.
