St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Josh Hancock was killed early Sunday morning when his 2007 Ford Explorer struck the back of a tow truck that had been assisting another vehicle.
Hancock, 29, played for four major league teams throughout his six seasons. He appeared in 62 games last year for the Cardinals and was a solid figure in the bullpen that helped St. Louis win its tenth World Series title.
The game between the Cardinals and Chicago Cubs on Sunday has been postponed.
