Suicide Bombing in Afghan Market Kills at least 20 People

A suicide bomber detonated an explosive in a crowded Afghan market on Thursday, killing at least 20 people and injuring 13 more.

Officials believe the bomber may have been targeting police or military personnel near the market in Dihrawud located in the Uruzgan province but the explosive detonated prematurely. All the casualties in the bombing were said to be civilian.

Thursday’s attack was said to be the deadliest in several months in Afghanistan.
