NBA Scores: Warriors on the Brink Of series Upset with Game Four Win Over Mavericks

Baron Davis scored 33 points and grabbed 8 rebounds while Jason Richardson added 22 points and 5 boards as the Golden State Warriors beat the Dallas Mavericks 103-99 to move within one more win of advancing to the second round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Dallas led by as many as ten in the first half but by the end of the second quarter the Warriors had pulled to within one 49-48. It looked as if the Mavericks would head to the locker room with a four point cushion after Dirk Nowitzki completed a three-point play with one second on the clock but Baron Davis hit a desperation 49-footer at the buzzer to cut their deficit to one.

Golden State opened the third with a pair of three-pointers and took a five point lead but after Dallas tied the score at 61-61 the Mavericks used a 9-0 run to move in front 70-61. Once again the Mavericks built a ten point lead only to see it fall as Davis ended the third with a dunk bring the Warriors within one, 77-76.

The Mavericks looked as if they were ready to pull away in the fourth quarter after Jerry Stackhouse hit an 18-footer to give Dallas an 88-80 lead with 7:20 on the clock. Unfortunately for the Mavericks they would hit only score two more points over the next six and a half minutes and Andris Biedrins gave the Warriors the lead with a dunk with just under two minutes remaining in the game.

Jason Terry stopped the bleeding for the Mavericks with a three-pointer to bring Dallas to within two but Matt Barnes answered for the Warriors with a triple of his own with 23 seconds left to seal the game.

The two teams will now head back to Dallas where they will play game five of their best of seven series on Tuesday.
