Former ‘American Idol’ Finalist Arrested on Battery Charges

Jessica Sierra, a 2005 season four finalist on the hit reality show ‘American Idol’, was arrested and on felony battery charges after she hit a man above the eye with a glass at a Tampa Bay café over the weekend.

The 21-year-old apparently struck the man just above his eye.

Police arrived at the scene and arrested Sierra and she was booked on aggravated battery charges. Upon searching her purse, police discovered a small amount of cocaine and she was then charged with possession as well as introduction of contraband into a correctional facility.

Sierra was considered one of the strongest singers in the season four competition by Simon Cowell but she finished in tenth place. Carrie Underwood was the eventual ‘American Idol’ winner that season.
