Activist and former fashion model Heather Mills has admitted that her dismissal from the hit reality show ‘Dancing with the Stars’ was “Upsetting.”
While admitting that the voters’ decision to boot her was a bit surprising, Mills seemed just as shocked that she had a six-week run on the show. Len Goodman, one of the three judges on ‘Dancing,’ was stunned that Mills was sent packing, believing that it was John Ratzenberger or Billy Ray Cyrus who would exit.
Mills had taken the invitation to compete on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ as a means of promoting awareness that amputees could lead an active life. Throughout the competition all three judges raved about the abilities of Mills who, despite dancing with an artificial leg, regularly attempted the most difficult moves.
In 1993 Mills had her left leg below her knee amputated after being hit by a police motorcycle while crossing the street.
