Microsoft claims an Internet Explorer browser flaw contributed to the discovery of the attacks against Google and an addition 20 publicly traded companies.
Microsoft identified the hole in security following Google’s announcement on the hackers that were attempting entrance into the g-mail accounts of Chinese human rights activists. The software provider believes heightening the browser’s security zone to “high” can eliminate the hole. They may also release updated software to rectify the problem.
The attack, that Microsoft believes Internet explorer may have allowed to happen, has incensed Google and led them to threaten to abandon their services and offices in China.
