Despite winning the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year honors Marcus Camby wasn’t the top vote getter for the NBA All-Defensive Team. That honor went to San Antonio Spurs forward Bruce Bowen who received 42 votes, edging teammate Tim Duncan who was also included on the first team squad.
This is Bowen’s seventh time being selected by the NBA’s 30 head coaches while Duncan, who received 36 votes, earned his 10th appearance on the list.
Bowen and Duncan were joined by the Denver Nuggets Marcus Camby who was selected for the third time in his career.
Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns’ Raja Bell rounded out the list of first teamers.
Chicago Bulls stars Ben Wallace and Kirk Hinrich, New Jersey Nets guard Jason Kidd, Tayshaun Prince of the Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves veteran Kevin Garnett were named to the second team.
