MoneyGram (NYSE: MGI) Reduces Money Transfer Fees for Haiti

MoneyGram International (NYSE: MGI) announced Thursday it has reduced fees for money transfers sent to Haiti following the nation’s catastrophic earthquake, according to Associated Press.

 

MoneyGram will offer a $1 price and similar pricing in foreign currencies for money transfers to Haiti from any of MoneyGram's 186,000 locations throughout the world.

The company also said its relief efforts include a $10,000 grant to Pan American Development Foundation and free transactions to the American Red Cross.

 

Shares of MoneyGram rose 7 cents to $3.24 in afternoon trading.
