Central Garden & Pet Co. (NASDAQ: CENT) announced Friday that Chief Financial Officer Jeffrey A. Blade has resigned after just four months on the job, according to Associated Press.
The lawn and pet supplies company said Blade's resignation was mutually agreed upon with Chairman and CEO William Brown.

Former CFO Stuart Booth will step in as interim CFO. Booth retired as CFO, Secretary and Executive Vice President in April 2009.
Before joining Central Garden, Blade served as interim president of The Steak 'N Shake Co. (NYSE: SNS), as well as its chief financial and administrative officer. Blade has also worked at Cott Beverages (NYSE: COT), Kraft Foods (NYSE: KFT) and Price Waterhouse.
