FedEx (NYSE: FDX) Raises Freight, Trucking Prices by 5.9 Percent

FedEx (NYSE: FDX) announced Friday that the shipping company will increase prices at its freight and national trucking unit by 5.9 percent on Feb. 1, according to Associated Press.

 

These rate increases apply to the company's less-than-truckload shipments, where a number of smaller loads from a variety of shippers are consolidated on a single truck for final delivery.

FedEx made a similar increase in prices for its other units.

 

Both FedEx Corp. and its rival UPS Inc. (NYSE: UPS) usually announce these standard rate increases annually.
