Haitian Singer Jimmy O Killed in Earthquake

Jimmy O, a well known hip hop star in Haiti, was killed in Tuesday’s earthquake. The body of the 35-year-old was discovered in a crushed vehicle in Port-au-Prince on Friday. CNN was on the scene when his body was discovered and has confirmed a passport found in the victim’s pocket identified him as Jean Jimmy Alexandre, Jimmy O’s real name.

“His loss will be tremendous in Haiti,” said his agent, Henry Robert Dominique.

According to Dominique, Alexandre helped Haitian musician Wyclef Jean run Yele Haiti, a charity organization now heavily involved in the relief effort in Haiti.
