Deutsche Bank puts $4 mil Toward Haiti

Deutsche Bank AG raised $4 million to go toward the Haiti relief efforts by pooling together net agency equity trading commissions grossed Friday.

Deutsche Bank will begin sending donations immediately via Doctors Without Borders, Oxfam American, AmeriCares and Partners in Health.

A percentage of the money will go toward Haiti’s future and the long-term recovery of land and buildings headed by such organizations as Habitat for Humanity, Foundation Connaissances et Liberte and Fonkoze.

The investment bank, as many companies have done has also said that they will offer an expanded accelerated program to provide equivalent donations to its employees.

At present the death toll of the earthquake remains unknown but is estimated to be near 50,000.
