Cornhole crazies are coming to Las Vegas. The Orleans Hotel and Casino will host the 2010 ACO US Nationals Cornhole Festival and King of Cornhole Tournament on January 28th, 29th, and 30t.h.
Excitement mounts as 30 pre-qualified “professional” cornhole players prepare for their journey to Vegas. They are the elite of national cornhole players and will play in the 64 player KoC tournament on Saturday January 30, 2010. This tournament will determine the 2009 King of Cornhole.
The bigger story is the tournament pre-qualification rounds on Friday January 29th. The pre-qualifier tournament will determine the remaining coveted 34 spots for the King of Cornhole Tournament held on Saturday. Competitive players from all over the country will converge on the Orleans as they vie for these final 34 select spots.
According to Frank Geers , President of the ACO, American Cornhole Organization, “this year is a great year for the good players to test their skills against the great players. There are 30 or so spots available in the qualifier round that will get a player into the final field of 64 for the King of Cornhole Tournament Saturday.” Frank says competition is getting better and the number of pre-qualified players will increase. “There could be a sleeper out there and this is his or her big chance to play against the cornhole professionals.”
The weekend event is a family event. Plan on lots of cornhole with family, friends, and soon to be friends. Starting Thursday January 28th there will be Luck of Draw tournaments and many cornhole board challenge events. Those events include; Challenger Boards, seven21 – a game created by the ACO, AirMail Challenge, Continuous Pitch and other cornhole related activities.
The ACO US Nationals include Socials Tournaments and Challenges designed specifically for those that like the game of Cornhole but do not feel they are pro caliber.
This is the third year the ACO has brought the ACO US Cornhole Nationals to Las Vegas and is expecting to see record numbers.
