The NFL playoffs head into its second week of action on Saturday with a pair of games promising a little bit if everything. After earning the NFC’s best record and a first-round bye the New Orleans Saints will get the day started as they host the Arizona Cardinals. With the Saints Drew Brees and the Cardinals Kurt Warner the game features two of the NFL’s best quarterbacks and it should be a shoot out when they kickoff at 4:30 p.m. ET. In the second game the Indianapolis Colts get their playoffs started against the Baltimore Ravens, a game that will be extremely physical. Indy had the best record in the NFL but that hasn’t stopped the doubters who have questioned their most recent performances. Those questions will be answered after the 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.
Arizona hasn’t shown any signs of being intimidated by the high-powered New Orleans Saints and that is due in large part to their own explosive offense. The Cardinals scored 51 points in their win over the Packers last week and with Kurt Warner playing as well as he is Arizona is tough to stop. As good as the Cardinals looked last week they may need to look better on Saturday because Drew Brees has had an incredible year leading the Saints. Both teams feature a number of offensive weapons so as usual the game will come down to turnovers and who takes advantages of the mistakes.
After the Baltimore Ravens sealed their playoff spot with a win in Week 17 Ray Lewis began telling his team anything can happen from there on out. Lewis proved himself right last week as the Ravens beat up the New England Patriots to advance and now face the Indianapolis Colts for the right to play in the AFC Championship game. Baltimore established a solid running game and didn’t put much pressure on Joe Flacco to keep the offense moving and that should be the game plan on Saturday. The only problem is Indy has Peyton Manning and there has been nobody better at finding a way to win. Manning led the Colts to a 14-0 start before the team began preparing for the playoffs and dropped their final two games. They should be featuring all their weapons on Saturday in a game that could come down to the final drive and if the ball is in Manning’s hand then Baltimore could be going home unhappy.
