America’s favorite mailman was voted off ‘Dancing with the Stars’ on Tuesday night after audience members felt he could no longer deliver. In truth, John Ratzenberger never really delivered as much as he entertained throughout his tenure on the show.
While his sense of humor and lightheartedness was a breath of fresh air his dance steps often looked like the painful plodding of a retired postal worker.
Ratzenberger picked up a 23 on his first dance, a foxtrot, and earned positive reviews from the judges and his rumba did the same yet elicited a 22 from the scorecards. Despite the low scores Ratzenberger wasn’t on the bottom of the leader board, that honor went to Billy Ray Cyrus who totaled a 38 on his pair of dances.
Before leaving Ratzenberger had an opportunity to thank his dance partner, Edyta Sliwinska, saying “Her kindness and patience and friendship has really been astounding.”
‘Dancing with the Stars’ is now down to five contestants; Laila Ali, Apolo Anton Ohno, Joey Fatone, Ian Ziering and Billy Ray Cyrus. Each contestant will have two dances to perform on Monday.
