Andy Murray still has his sights set on his first career Grand Slam singles title and he took an impressive step in reaching that goal in his first round matchup at the 2010 Australian Open, crushing Kevin Anderson in straight sets 6-1, 6-1, 6-2.
Murray struggled a bit with his first serve, putting just 35% in play but he won 87% of those offerings. He also collected nine aces and limited himself to just 19 unforced errors. Anderson had little hope against Murray as he saw his serve broken eight times and committed 32 unforced errors in a match that lasted just over an hour and a half.
Murray has yet to capture a Grand Slam singles title yet he reached the finals at the 2008 U.S. Open where he fell to Roger Federer. He reached the semifinals of Wimbledon last year before being dismissed by Andy Roddick and he reached the quarterfinals of the 2009 French Open where he lost to Fernando Gonzalez. His best finish at the Australian Open has been a fourth round appearance.
