The way its going so far for “Spider-Man 3” Sony may be begging Tobey Maguire to sign on for a fourth installment of the superhero franchise flick.
“Spider-Man 3” easily surpassed “The Da Vinci Code” one day mark of $2.5 million at Italian theaters with a haul of $4 million on 900 screens.
Early returns at the French box-office had the web-spinner pulling in $1.4 million on 64 screens in the Paris region; the numbers will surely jump when all the figures are available.
Maguire and company took the German moviegoers by storm as well grossing $4.6 million in its first day.
“Spider-Man 3” will hit theaters on Friday in the U.S. and will enjoy two weeks without much competition. “Shrek the Third” will be released on May 18th followed by Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and Keith Richards in “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” on May 25th.
