NBC Giving Conan $40 Million in Exit Deal

World News Update by EQUITIES Magazine

In the deal to walk away from his job hosting NBC’s “The Tonight Show”, the Wall Street Journal is reporting the network will give Conan O’Brien $32.5 million to go on “garden leave” until September. This would prevent him from hosting any other TV shows but give him an option to sign other deals.

The other $7.5 million will go in severance to pay Conan’s roughly 200 “Tonight Show” employees.

In addition, the exit agreement bars O’Brien from bad-mouthing his former NBC bosses.
